RICHMOND

MOTOR GROUP

Originally Richmond Hyundai, the Richmond Motor Group has seen trend-bucking growth over the past few years and continues to expand.

The government scrappage scheme in 2010 saw Richmond become the UK's Number 1 scrappage dealer, taking hundreds of old and inefficient vehicles off the road and replacing them with cleaner, greener models. Michael Nobes, Managing Director, has overseen the growth and expansion of Richmond from their small Portsmouth showroom to today’s multi-site, multi-million-pound dealerships on the South Coast.

A&E Catering Design were approached and asked to design a café in their new Southampton showroom opposite the stylish West Quay shopping centre.

Mr Nobes was involved at every stage of the design process.  The space allocated for the café was compact, so the design required efficient use of every possible inch of space.  The facility comprises a self-service chilled multideck display for cold drinks and sandwiches, a heated display to serve a hot choice, breakfast, a range of pies and pasties and pizza.  Paninis and hot baguettes, jacket potatoes and sandwiches are made to order and available to both staff and customers.

A compact oven with accelerated cooking technology delivers the total menu at speed using the smallest footprint possible.  The design incorporates a preparation area with sink and hand basin, a small undercounter dishwasher, large capacity undercounter variable temperature refrigerated plan drawers, a milk refrigerator, 2-group espresso coffee machine together with associated grinder and water boiler.
